Thank you to the very first players who came on board, reported bugs and sent ideas. Most of what is in 1.0.2 comes from you.
Support is up. You can now report a bug from Help & Support in the You tab, and there is a Discord to talk, report and share ideas, discord.gg/wpn72hshDb. Do not hesitate.
1.0.2 is on the web now. Android and iPhone are coming in a few days.
- Left-handed mode. The fretboard flips, the nut goes to the right and the frets run right to left. The strings keep their order. Turn it on in You, Settings, Fretboard.
- Open strings now light up on the string label, as root, target note or scale note. They stayed dark on every platform.
- Your saved tuning shows up again, in Settings and on the neck. Both kept showing Standard E until something else redrew the screen.
- Save Tuning applies right away. No popup, no page reload.
- Nine strings are accepted. A 9 string tuning was in the list but fell back to EADGBE on the next load. It now has a Standard C# preset.
- A pill with the scales that fit the backing you are playing. Pick one and it follows the track, it applies on every section that takes it and turns grey on the sections that do not. The scales Per set on a track still apply.
- Jam list titles say what is in them, like "Backing Tracks in D Dorian".
- Settings is now You. It holds Help & Support with Report a bug, FAQ and Known issues, plus What's new.
- Backing track 14 in Jam now shows G Lydian Dominant on the fretboard, the scale it is played in.
- Interval labels show 1 on the root and only the altered degrees, like b3, #4 or b7. No more note names.
- "Already have an account? Sign in" goes straight to Google and asks for your account once.
- Tips on first launch. Turn them off in You, Settings, Show tips.
- A Mixer, in the menu at the bottom right, while you play. Set Chords, Fretboard piano, Backing and Metronome to the level you want, mute any of them, keep a master on top. It replaces the sliders buried in Settings.
- Jam is easier to browse. Lessons and Artist Packs sit in rows you can scroll, View all opens the full list, and the page puts you back where you were when you return.
- Jam and You use the whole screen on tablet and desktop instead of one narrow strip in the middle.
- The bass selector moved out of Settings. It now sits in the "..." menu on the chord card, with the rest of the chord settings.
- Your purchase stays where it belongs. It no longer moves to another account on its own, and it comes back after a reinstall.
- Fret markers inside the circles. A dot on frets 3, 5, 7, 9, 15, 17, 19 and 21, two on the 12th and the 24th, right in the empty circles, and they stay under the name or the degree when View writes one. They are on by default, turn them off in You, Settings, Fretboard.
- Inlay dots between the strings, like on a real guitar. They are off by default now that the circles carry the markers, so the same fret is not marked twice. Turn them on in You, Settings, Fretboard.
- One look for what you picked, everywhere. Scale, progression, View and the backing player mark your choice with a white tile and black text.
- The "..." menu on the progression card is visible again. It was white on a white card, so the chord sequence could only be changed by someone who knew the corner was there.
- A chord letter no longer stays blue once you stop it. It goes back to white, like its neighbours.
- In All view, the tonic outside the shape no longer shows up smaller and green. It reads like the other notes you are not aiming at.
